Similar to the Make Love Not War slogan of the 60's protest and hippie movement, Make Kink Not War stems from my desire to use conscious kink as a direct opposition to war and oppression and stem the tide of fast fashion by using upcycled clothing.

My passions and products:

Psychology: I value personal growth work and being introduced to kink has been such a revelation. Using kink to discover and work with shadow parts, and to create experiences for others where they can do the same, brings me deep satisfaction. 

Art: I love creating! Whether that's a costume or an experience. In particular I get a kick out of designing graphics that live kink out loud and that create conversations and connections.

Activism:

1. Opposition to war and oppression. Kink values teach us that consent is key. War, oppression, racism, patriarchy and unchecked capitalism all violate without consent. I would like to live in a world where everyone's sovereignty is respected. 
2. I want to contribute to sustainability and upcycling clothing is a perfect vehicle for that. Fast fashion is part of our disposable society. We have such an abundance of "stuff" and yet we're told that we must keep the market growing by buying new. I hope you'll find something that tickles you here but if not, go buy something else used! 

Products: 

Selected clothing comes from closets (you could say they're... coming out!) or thrift stores. All graphics are made with high-quality direct-to-film (DTF) transfers which are tested to last 100+ washes without fading, cracking, or peeling.

For painted clothing I use Jacquard Textile paint which is durable for wear and washing. 

Used clothing may not have tags. I'll do my best to size and identify fabric. I select clothing that tends not to have any structural issues or stains. Some clothing is altered or distressed on purpose.
